Here at Stoke Park School, we recognise that the needs of our younger students are very different to our older students and the first year at secondary school is the critical year in any young person’s educational journey. Working in collaboration with President Kennedy School and The Futures Trust, we are delighted to be opening The Bridge at Stoke Park School in September 2019.
The Bridge at Stoke Park School will provide our new Year 7 students with their own ‘mini school’, a welcoming place where they will settle quickly and the staff in The Bridge can focus entirely on them, delivering outstanding care and accelerated academic progress.
The Bridge at Stoke Park School, will be located in its own part of the building with its own play area and staff (The Bridge Team). Teachers will visit students at The Bridge rather than Year 7 students having to make their way across school to lessons. The Bridge will offer its own clubs and societies and the whole focus will be to ensure our new students feel at home from day one, engage in positive experiences, make new friends and get the very best start at secondary school.
Much praised by Ofsted and leading educationalists, The Bridge was pioneered by President Kennedy School eight years ago. Whereas Year 7 students tend to experience a dip in academic performance on transfer to secondary school, The Bridge at President Kennedy School has consistently delivered accelerated academic progress year after year along with unrivalled pastoral care and transition experience. Education specialists travel from all over the world to see The Bridge and understand its formula for achievement. Stoke Park School will have direct support from those staff that have made The Bridge at President Kennedy School such a success over the years.

What will I learn about in Year 7?
In the Bridge at Stoke Park School, we believe in an engaging and varied curriculum designed to build on learning from primary school and allow students to make important links between subject areas to ensure students make rapid progress. The curriculum is underpinned by an emphasis on the core communication skills of reading, writing and speaking which are vital to ensure our students are literate and curious learners and confident members of the community.
