This week has been a relatively quiet one for house competitions as practice is well under way for the Lip Sync Battle on Wednesday next week. Houses are desperately choreographing and rehearsing their routines before performing in front of the audience and judges in order to be crowned the Lip Sync champions 2017!!
The only house competition action last week has been the Y10 dodgeball, which again, was a very closely fought contest. Griffin came out triumphant, only decided in their last game. Phoenix and Lynx came joint second and Eagle came fourth, but were still only a few points off winning! The staff and sixth form played on Friday night too, speak to some of them to find out the result!!
In sporting news, the Y10 girls qualified to represent Coventry East at the Level 3 Regional School Games. The girls were Dayah Sagoo, Marlee Richards, Sarmejah Kirupamoorthy and Chloe Woodall. The boys unfortunately were pipped by Ernesford Grange and finished second in their group, missing out on qualifying for the next round. The badminton girls are now the third team we have representing Coventry East at the Level 3 Regional School Games in the New Year, a remarkable achievement.
Preparation for Post 16 subject choices Student/Parent evening was a highly successful event on Thursday 15th dec. Lots of Y11 students demonstrated a clear desire to attend Stoke Park Sixth form and were extremely positive and enthusiastic about the wide range of subject options available. Many detailed conversations were had to guide and inform all. Special thanks to Miss Kirk for her super organisation, her enthusiastic talk in the Main hall before the event, and to Heads of Subject for impressively promoting what Post 16 courses will be available September 2018.
