Stoke Park School students started the new term in tremendous style with our brand new uniform that includes smart blazers, smart black shoes and coloured school ties that indicate which of the four houses they belong to. Our pastoral structure has been re-organised and we now have vertical tutor groups. Older students are given the responsibility to be mentors for the younger tutees in their form and more widely within their house. Each of the four houses, Eagle, Griffin, Lynx and Phoenix have settled in to a routine quickly and are already engaged in competitions and fun events.
Mr Davis our school House Champion said this week after organising a lunchtime football event ....
'Today’s Y7 penalty shoot-out was a massive success, with lots of pupils coming down to represent their house and other year groups watching and cheering on. A big thank you for those staff who came down to support, your presence was greatly appreciated and helped the event to run smoothly. Big shout out to Mr Kandola and Mr Jamal for going in goal for it too!!
The atmosphere was great today.'
**Next week will be the start of the 6-a-side football tournaments to represent houses. Y7 and Y8 will be playing next Wednesday, Y9 the Wednesday after, Y10 and Y11 on the Thursday and 6th form and staff on the Friday.
We look forward to another fun packed week. Finally well done to our new Year 7 students for settling so well, looking so smart and being a credit to their new school.
