Stoke Park Year 11 students rose to the challenge of the new GCSEs in English and Maths with most achieving a standard pass or better in each qualification. The progress of disadvantaged students, previously an area identified by Ofsted for improvement, was particularly positive and we saw gains across the full range of subjects as a result of our new approaches to teaching and learning. Another success was with students with English as a second language; they achieved almost half a grade more than expected per subject.
Notable achievements by Stoke Park students include Navneet Khangura who achieved the new top grade 9 in English Language with 8s for Maths and English Literature plus 2A*, 4As and a B grade in her other subjects and Cameron Tumber who achieved the new top grade 9 in Maths along with an 8 and 6 for English Literature and language plus 1A*, 5A grades and 1 C grade in his other subjects.
It was a challenging year for staff and students grappling with the new qualifications and we recognise and applaud the hard work that went into achieving these results.
Other notable performances included:
Prianka Patel (2 grade 8s, 1 grade 6, 5A and 2B)
Leah Boshell (3 grade 7s, 3A and 3B)
Sebastian Wierzbicki (1 grade 7, 1 grade 6, 1 grade 5, 4A and 2B)
