Once again students at Stoke Park achieved a very positive set of A level results, reinforcing the school’s Sixth Form OFSTED judgment of ‘Good’. Students achieved 100% D-P in all Applied General subjects with a substantial 92% of the results being D-D grades. This is a stunning result for our post 16 learners and the staff. The pass rate for A Level was 99% of with 37% of these results being A*-B grades.
Key successes included Hannah Williamson with DD in Music and a B in Biology, English Literature and her Extended Project qualification. Hannah has been accepted to study Physiotherapy at Keele University. Jeneva Griffiths achieved A* in Fine Art, A in RE and a B in Geography and Courtney Furby achieved a D* in ICT, A in Fine Art and a B in Media.
Students who achieved a D* in all Applied General qualification included Prempal Gheent, Bradley Harrison, Amanda Orland and Prabhjot Virdee.
Brothers Shamel and Shahel Uddin achieved a D* each in Business and while Shamel achieved an A in RE and a B in Geography, Shahel achieved a D* in ICT and a D in Media. Both have been accepted into their first choice University places, Shamel to study Accounting and Finance and Shahel to student Business Law.
Other notable performances included Aleks Damjanovic (with an A in Psychology, B in History and a B in English Literature) who is going to study Law at Warwick University and Grace Dunkley (who achieved a DD in Music and B grades in Geography and Design) who is going to Coventry University to study Interior Architecture and Design.
Mrs Sue Jones the Head Teacher said, ‘These are a good set of results demonstrating that Stoke Park students can excel and flourish in both academic and vocational fields. The Applied General results were outstanding. These results reflect the hard work of both the students and the staff and all are to be congratulated.’
