Stoke Park students were recently entered for the annual Coventry Schools Design & Technology Awards which were again organised and sponsored by Coventry / Warwickshire Rotarians. This celebration event acknowledges what young people can design and manufacture and helps promote Design & Technology excellence at GCSE and A level. This year’s show was held at the Coventry Transport Museum with the celebration and prize giving at the Central Methodist Hall Wednesday evening the 21st June. The event is supported by Warwick University and a range of company sponsors including Meggit Braking Systems who awarded one of our students the overall prize for quality engineering.
We are proud to announce the winners were:
Luke Dale, (two prizes) best GCSE project for Stoke Park and overall best engineering project in the city with prize sponsored by the engineering industry.
Best A level Product Design project entered for Stoke Park was produced by Katrina Bukeja in Y13.
Both students received certificates of excellence and cash prizes. We are proud to say sixteen of our students were entered and our display of our work from the school was highly creditable reflecting hard work, creativity and quality. All sixteen students work was acknowledged with certificates of merit.
STEM EVENT coming up
On Monday 3rd July we are hosting another inter-schools VEX Robotics and Engineering event. Schools from Coventry and Warwickshire will be involved in a series of robotics challenges. All schools have engineered their own Robots using VEX construction materials, modified to suit the respective events and will take part in a series of elimination events. We expect a large number of enthusiastic young learners to have a fantastic experience during the day.
